Profile Mechanical Work Planner Turnaround

We currently seek a Mechanical Work Planner Turnaround for one of our clients. The key objective of the Mechanical Work Planner Turnaround is the preparation for the Turnaround 2020 by composing detailed work packages based on the scope descriptions. This also includes multidisciplinary work and scope for which the Mechanical Work Planner Turnaround consults and collaborates with engineers and work planners of other disciplines.


Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Prepare and budget work assignments;
  • Prepare work descriptions;
  • Make isometric sketches and/or drawings;
  • Ensure that the inspection requirements are set;
  • Fill in Inspection requirement sheets (IRS);
  • Reserve resources based on the statement given by NDT firms;
  • Reserve required material, equipment and services in available systems;
  • Apply specifications and procedures and contribute and help to improve them;
  • Identify relevant safety information and requirements;
  • Assist in drafting task risk analyses;
  • Designate work to contractors (specials);
  • Specify the required scaffolding and insulation work;
  • Consult with other disciplines for the benefit of an optimal work approach.
  • Communicate with contractors and subject disciplines;
  • Prepare budget and calculations according to unit rate system;
  • Check and approve the supplied estimates;
  • Request quotes via the Purchasing department;
  • Monitor the progress of review and approval of work packages by all disciplines;
  • Follow up the materials and services to be delivered;
  • Document and archive documentation history;
  • Provide input for the preparation of an evaluation report.

Requirements Mechanical Work Planner Turnaround

  • Minimum secondary technical education;
  • Proven experience in related field, in particular preparation of piping and welding work;
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of work experience as a Mechanical Planner, preferably experienced in Shutdown and/or Turnaround work preparation at similar companies;
  • In possession of VVA-VOL certificate;
  • Experience with MS office: Excel and Word;
  • Resident of Zeeland;
  • Good command of the English and Dutch language, written and spoken;
  • Competences: good communication skills and pleasant to deal with.
