Commissioning Engineer

Profile Commissioning Engineer

Can you coordinate construction, vendors, and operations so commissioning runs safely and on schedule? Are you the go-to person when a loop won't pass, a cause-and-effect won't fire, or a bendor test stalls?

-

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to plan, execute, and document pre-commissioning and commissioning activities so that systems are safely tested, verified, and handed over ready for reliable operation on schedule.

-

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and execute commissioning plans, procedures, ITPs, and checklists for assigned systems.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning, functional testing, and system energisation/shakedown with construction, engineering, vendors, and operations.
  • Lead loop checks, cause-and-effect tests, and system turnover packages; ensure as-built documentation is complete and traceable.
  • Drive safety in execution (PTW, LOTO, SIMOPS) and ensure compliance with project specs, codes, and HSSE requirements.
  • Manage punch listing (A/B), NCRs, and technical queries; track closure to meet RFSU/MC milestones.
  • Plan resources, tools, spares, and vendor attendance; mitigate schedule risks with recovery actions.
  • Troubleshoot start-up issues, analyse test results, and implement corrective actions to stabilise performance.
  • Prepare and deliver commissioning reports, KPIs, and handover dossiers to operations.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of commissioning standards and templates.

Requirements Commissioning Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or related engineering discipline.
  • Proven commissioning experience on large industrial/EPC projects (oil & gas/energy/offshore preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pre-commissioning/commissioning workflows, system completion, and turnover (MC, RFC, RFSU).
  • Familiar with PTW/LOTO, SIMOPS, and Site HSSE practices; solid understanding of relevant codes/standards.
  • Hands-on with loop checks, function tests, cause-and-effect, and instrumentation/controls interfaces.
  • Adept at planning, progress tracking, punch management, and vendor/subcontractor coordination.
  • Clear communication with strong troubleshooting skills and a bias for safe, timely execution.
  • Willingness to work offshore/yard/site rotations as project needs require.
