The project is progressing from construction and mechanical completion into system handover, pre-commissioning, commissioning and ultimately start-up of the complete plant.

Commissioning Supervisor – Mechanical

As a Mechanical Commissioning & Start-Up Supervisor, you will support the commissioning and start-up of INEOS Project ONE, with field responsibility for assigned mechanical systems and equipment.

You will work closely with Construction, Operations, Engineering, Process, E&I and other commissioning disciplines to ensure that mechanical systems and equipment are technically ready for safe operation. This is a hands-on field role with a strong focus on system readiness, mechanical integrity, start-up support, troubleshooting and safe plant operation.

  • Coordinate and perform mechanical system walkdowns, equipment checks, punch-list follow-up and verification of system readiness
  • Review mechanical completion documentation, system boundaries, test packs and commissioning dossiers
  • Coordinate and supervise mechanical pre-commissioning activities, including flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, leak testing, reinstatement and system preparation
  • Support commissioning and start-up of mechanical equipment, systems and utilities
  • Ensure mechanical equipment is correctly prepared and available for initial operation and plant start-up
  • Work closely with Operations and other disciplines during equipment start-up, initial operation, troubleshooting and plant stabilisation
  • Coordinate with Construction and Engineering regarding outstanding mechanical issues, punch items and technical queries
  • Supervise contractors and field personnel during commissioning and start-up activities
  • Ensure safe execution in accordance with HSE, Permit-to-Work, LOTO and SIMOPS requirements
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, punch lists, system status and handover documentation
  • Support the progressive handover of completed systems from Construction/Commissioning to Operations
  • Where required, take responsibility for mechanical commissioning and start-up activities across multiple plant areas or the complete facility

Requirements Commissioning Supervisor - Mechanical

  • Extensive hands-on Mechanical Commissioning & Start-Up experience within petrochemical, ethylene/olefins, refinery, Oil & Gas or comparable process facilities
  • Demonstrable experience taking mechanical systems and equipment from Mechanical Completion through commissioning and actual plant start-up to Operations handover
  • Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating and static equipment, piping systems, valves and associated plant equipment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical completion, system boundaries, walkdowns, punch listing, test packs and commissioning procedures
  • Proven experience supporting or supervising actual plant start-ups, preferably on large-scale greenfield projects
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines and coordinate effectively with Construction, Operations, Engineering, Process and E&I teams
  • Strong field leadership and contractor coordination skills
  • Good knowledge of HSE, Permit-to-Work, LOTO and SIMOPS requirements
  • Experience with major petrochemical projects, steam crackers or ethylene/olefins plants is a strong advantage
  • Good command of English
