We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who leads cost control, contract management, and commercial negotiations across civil, mechanical, and E&I scopes to ensure projects stay on budget and commercially compliant.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and E&I disciplines.
  • Manage commercial contracts, invoicing, claims, and vendor billing.
  • Lead change orders, variation assessments, and cost negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor installed vs contracted quantities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Recalculate project costs when design or scope changes occur.
  • Prepare tenders, variation estimates, and service/material cost proposals.
  • Certify completed works and ensure timely payments to contractors and suppliers.
  • Track contractor performance, progress reporting, and monthly cost statistics.
  • Support contractual claims, commercial strategy, and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify that work aligns with the budget.
  • Maintain daily site logs, progress tracking, and documentation.
  • Coordinate technical and commercial meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch and EU contract laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with construction leadership to support commercial project control.

Requirements Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying on large industrial or complex construction projects.
  • Experience across Civil, Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) scopes.
  • Background in FMCG, edible oil refining, chemical or industrial plant projects is a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial management, and EU/Dutch regulations.
  • Proven experience with cost estimation, claims, invoicing, variations, and procurement.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Confident in managing client commercial interfaces and subcontractor relationships.
  • Highly organised, structured, and comfortable working in fast-paced site environments.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a strong advantage.
