Do you have experience turning limited subsurface data into high-value exploration opportunities? Can you lead a team and influence strategic exploration decisions at basin level?

We are looking for a Team Lead Open Acreage Management who drives offshore exploration growth by identifying, de-risking, and developing open acreage opportunities through geological and geophysical studies, data acquisition, and strategic portfolio development.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of 4-8 geoscientists, aligning expertise with project needs.
  • Conduct geological & geophysical (G&G) studies to assess risks and opportunities in open acreage.
  • Build and mature play and prospect portfolios to support exploration strategy.
  • Define and manage data acquisition programs to further de-risk offshore acreage.
  • Identify and support basin studies to enhance exploration value.
  • Promote exploration opportunities and manage acreage offerings (bid rounds, direct negotiations).
  • Support commercial evaluations, including PSC terms and contract negotiations.
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, and budgets for the team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (exploration, development, commercial, legal, etc.).
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including operators, partners, and investors.

Vereisten Team Lead Open Acreage Management

  • Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related geoscience discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in subsurface/exploration roles within oil & gas.
  • Strogn experience in offshore (preferably deepwater) exploration.
  • Proven experience with E&P software (e.g., Petrel, GeoX, GisPax, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of risk, resource, and value assessment.
  • Experience with block offerings, bid rounds, or prospect portfolio analysis is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including JV partners and commercial teams.
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills, able to deliver through others.
  • Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus!).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, data-limited environment with a pragmatic mindset.
